This beautiful Vita Vinea Saperavi wine is made from the eponymous red (complexion) grape, a very old grape variety from Georgia. The grapes are grown in the village of Zhaluri in the region of Akhmeta (in Kakheti) on a very old vineyard of the famous winemaker family Dakishvili (founded in 1930).
The wine is produced using a traditional Kakheti method, which means that fermenting the grapes for 24 days in a Qvevri takes place without the addition of yeast followed by aging in oak barrels. This wine is bottled without filtration.
