The Khvanchkara from the similarly name Royal Khvanchkara winery is a soft red wine, which is produced in the Racha region. An iconic wine for Georgia together with the Kindzmarauli and Usakhelkauri wines.
The wine is composed of Alexandrouli and Mujurethuli grape varieties grown in the Khvanchkara micro-zone. The ideal drinking temperature for this wine is between 12-14 ° C. Not only the name of this Khvanchkara is beautiful, the wine is also characterized by a beautiful ruby-red color.
At the first sip, aroma’s of raspberries and red fruit unfold. The surprising combination of sweetness and acidity makes this wine a smooth and velvety wine.
Definitely recommended if you want to try a different type of wine than we are used to in Europe!
The delicious combined sweetness in this wine makes it easy to combine with a dessert. If there are nuts or chocolate in the dessert, it pairs well with this wine.
