This beautiful Dakishvili Family Selection Saperavi wine is made from the red (teinturier) grape of the same name, a very old grape variety from Georgia. The grapes are grown in the village of Zhaluri in the region of Akhmeta (in Kakheti) on a very old vineyard of the renowned Dakishvili winemakers family (founded in 1930).
The wine is produced in a traditional method of Kakheti, which means that fermentation of the grapes for the period of 6 months in a Qvevri takes place without the addition of yeast. This wine is bottled without filtration.
A beautiful ruby red color to enjoy before you take the first sip. The aromas include coffee, blackberries and black currants. The tannins are elegant for a young wine and the taste remains for a long time.
This wine will combine perfectly with grilled meat and game dishes where a tasty sauce does not have to be missing. A tasty (salty) cheese will also accompany this wine perfectly.
