The Orgo Saperavi from the Teleda Orgo vineyard is the family vinyard of the mosgt commended winemaker of Georgia: Giorgi Dakishvili. The vineyard has been in the hands of the Dakishvili family for generations, an established name in Georgia when it comes to wine making.
This wine shows perfectly how you can combine the traditional method of wine making with western methods like oak aging. The result is a powerful wine which contains beautiful aromas, accompanied by a nice acidity.

The Orgo Saperavi is a dry red wine made from the Saperavi grape of the same name. These grapes grown on over 50 year-old vines which have always been owned by the family business of the Dakishvili family. One of Georgia’s best winemakers, Giorgi Dakishvili, started this project together with his son Temur: wines that have fermented in the Qvevri (traditional method) and matured in oak barrels or qvevris (modern European method).
After manual harvesting of the grapes, and transporting them in small boxes, they are sorted by hand. Only the best quality grapes are used for this wine.
This elegant wine offers all the power of the Saperavi grape and reveals strong flavors such as cherries, blackcurrants and prunes in the mouth. At the finish, there are aromas to discover chocolate and spices.
This exceptional excellent wine can be drunk immediately, but is also ideal for aging in the long term. The wine will then become softer and the aromas will be even more prominent.
The wine combines well with a dish that has a strong taste. But it can also be enjoyed by itself as it’s an interesting and complex wine. When combined, you can think of lamb, roast sausage or a stew.
This Teleda Orgo Saperavi is only produced in a limited edition.
