This Babaneuris Marani Kisi is made from the similarly name Kisi grape. The vineyard is located in the Kakheti region of East Georgia, in the village of Babaneuri. This wine is fermented in the Qvevri, an 8000 year old traiditional method of making wine in clay jars which are buried in the ground. Due to the prolonged contact with the skin of the grape which is thrown in to this qvevri together with the juice, this wine has acquired an amber color.
This Babaneuris Marani Kisi has developed into an absolute top wine in the Qvevri. With aromas of almond, pear and honey with a hint of almond and spices, this is a complex wine that you will enjoy until the last sip. And the last drop in the glass makes the glass fill with a delicious soft honey scent as it comes fresh from the honeycomb.
To make this wine stand out, combine it with white meat or a salty cheese. But this wine also comes into its own with sushi dishes!
