The KSG Life Saperavi is an exceptional Saperavi wine. The late harvest combined with the qvevri method creates a beautiful, full-bodied wine that immediately captivates. A late harvest does carry some risks; timing must be perfect. Temuri Dakishvili, however, timed it perfectly, and this wine received high praise at the 2018 international Qvevri Wine Competition. It resulted in a lovely gold medal, of which he can be proud. And we are proud to offer this wine (despite its limited production) in our assortment!
This KSG Life Saperavi has a soft and full texture with aromas of ripe blackberries and a hint of chocolate in the background. The tannins are gentle, and their presence indicates that you can safely lay this wine down for many years — which will only make it more beautiful! We have set aside a few bottles because this is truly a wine with aging potential!
Like many fine, heavy Saperavis, this is a bottle you can place on the table alongside a beautifully grilled piece of meat, such as a thick rib-eye. But it also pairs well with a hearty stew.
