General Information
Domaine Jean Monnier Meursault Clos du Cromin 2022 is a refined and lively white Burgundy made from 100% Chardonnay. The Clos du Cromin vineyard is located north of the village of Meursault, towards Volnay, and is known for wines with tension, minerality, and an understated Meursault character.
Founded in 1728, Domaine Jean Monnier is one of the oldest estates in Meursault. It remained small for centuries until Jean Monnier expanded it after World War II with top vineyards such as Clos de Citeaux in Pommard. Today, the estate covers 16 hectares, of which 8 hectares are Premier Cru. An impressive 85% of the plantings are on steep slopes, resulting in low yields and high concentration.
The wines are crafted with great care: minimal use of wood, 16 months of aging, and a clear focus on purity, precision, and terroir expression.

Fun Fact
Clos du Cromin is located on a cool exposure on the north side of Meursault, on calcareous soils. This results in wines with less fat and more tension than those from the village center. Due to its location on slopes and the age of the estate, Jean Monnier produces here a mineral, classic style Meursault, with a long finish and refined expression of the terroir.
