General Information
Ancient Valley Khvanchkara is a semi-sweet red wine from the Racha-Lechkhumi region in northwestern Georgia. This prestigious wine is made from the Alexandrouli and Mujuretuli grape varieties, both indigenous to the Khvanchkara microzone. Ancient Valley works with hand-harvested grapes from small hillside vineyards and vinifies the wine with minimal intervention, allowing residual sugar to remain naturally after fermentation is stopped at the ideal balance.

Did You Know?
Khvanchkara is one of Georgia’s most iconic wines, historically favored by nobility and even Stalin himself. Thanks to its natural sweetness and balance, it’s often referred to as “the Georgian Beaujolais” – but unlike Beaujolais, it’s made from two rare grape varieties that grow only in this specific valley. Ancient Valley preserves this tradition with careful vineyard selection and minimal-intervention winemaking.
