General Information
Wine People Tetra is a rare dry amber wine from the village of Khvanchkara, located in the western Georgian region of Racha-Lechkhumi. The wine is made from the local white grape Tetra, a variety traditionally cultivated in the mountains.
The wine is produced by Tariel Lomtadze within the Wine People project – an initiative that helps small Georgian winemakers bring their unique, artisanal wines to an international audience. The wine is vinified using a traditional method, but with skin contact, which provides structure and aromatic depth.
Taste Profile of Wine People Tetra
The wine has a light straw to amber hue. On the nose, you can recognize a bouquet of yellow apple, melon, yellow plum, and blossom, with floral freshness and subtle spiciness.
The taste is dry, harmonious, and elegant, with fine acidity and a silky texture. Despite the skin contact, the wine remains refined and light, with a lively, mineral finish.
Serving Advice
Wine People Tetra pairs excellently with:
- Salads with nuts or citrus dressing
- Pasta with vegetables or seafood
- Aged cheeses with a soft texture
- Lightly grilled chicken or vegetarian dishes
Serve at 12–13°C. Decanting is optional.
Fun Fact
The Tetra grape is cultivated exclusively in the mountainous Racha region and is rarely found in single varietal vinifications. Thanks to the Wine People project and the work of winemaker Tariel Lomtadze, this grape now has a new platform in a unique amber style – a wine that is subtle, floral, and rare at the same time.
