This beautiful Vinoterra Mtvane wine is made from the similarly named dry white Mtsvane grape. This grape is a very old variety from the Georgian vineyards of Kakheti. The wine is produced by the traditional Kakheti method. This means that the fermentation of the grapes takes place in a Qvevri without the addition of yeast. After fermentation, the wine rests for 6 months on the skins. Due to this method, the wine cannot be characterized as a usual white wine; the color is more amber. This wine is bottled without filtration.
This Vinoterra Mtsvane wine has an amber color due to the long contact with the skin in the Qvevri. It is an elegant wine with aromas of dried wild capers and salted linden flowers. The taste is captivatingly lively, with a structure and complexity that are universally perceptible.
This is a must-try wine, even if you prefer red wine.
The wine is perfect with white meat, goat cheese (salad), or creamy pasta. To mask the tannins of the wine, it is good to combine salty or bitter foods.
