Usakhelauri 2019

Usakhelauri is not only the rarest wine of Georgia, but also one of the most valuable. This type of grape (the meaning of the name Usakhelauri can be freely translated into “without a name”) occurs worldwide only in Georgia and even there only in a small micro-zone in the village of Okhureshi in the mountainous region of Lechkhumi. The village has only about 700 inhabitants and is located at the foot of the Caucasus mountain range. The grape is grown on vines against the mountainside and has only a very limited edition of approximately 3 tons per year. The limited edition and the great taste and quality of this wine makes for a high price tag – but the Vivino scores for this special occasion wine show that it is absolutely worth the price.

This beautiful wine has a bright ruby ​​red color and offers a complete bouquet of aromas of, among others, red cherries. A medium-bodied, dense wine with a long-lasting, well-balanced aftertaste. This is perhaps one of the most important qualities of this wine.
