First, the whisky matures for at least fourteen years in traditional oak whisky casks, after which it is transferred to casks that previously contained Caribbean rum. This method adds complex, sweet, and fruity flavor notes to the already rich and smooth taste of The Balvenie. The distillery is located in the Speyside region of Scotland, known for producing some of the finest whiskies in the world.

The Balvenie’s unique approach to whisky making involves having almost all the necessary craftsmanship in-house. From growing their own barley, traditionally malting the barley on-site, copper stills and coppersmith work, to aging and bottling.
