Chikhladze’s winery is one of the small family vineyards that Georgia owes its reputation to. Here, the wines are still made with great care and attention, which is evident from the result. In 2019, at the wine exhibition, all five of his wines won gold or at least silver medals, which is exceptional (especially since this was not the first time).
This wine is made from two grapes: Mtsvane (grown near the village of Manavi) and Rkatsiteli (grown near the village of Samtatskaro). Both wines are fermented in qvevri and blended after fermentation to find the beautiful balance of their aromas and characteristics. The result is impressive: a splendid wine with a wonderfully complex bouquet of aromas and soft tannins that guarantee a good aging potential.
The wine pairs well with grilled meat dishes and game poultry.
