General Information
Royal Khvanchkara Aleksandrouli-Saperavi is a semi-sweet red wine from the high-altitude and cool region of Racha in western Georgia. This wine is a blend of Aleksandrouli, an aromatic and elegantly fruity grape typical of the region, and Saperavi, Georgia’s powerful teinturier grape with depth and structure.
The combination results in a wine that is both fruity and smooth, as well as offering structure and depth. The residual sugar is natural, coming from an early-terminated fermentation, which keeps the sweet character nicely balanced with acidity and tannins.
Tasting Profile of Royal Khvanchkara Aleksandrouli-Saperavi
The wine has a deep red, ruby-like color. In the aroma, you find ripe cherries, blackberries, raspberries, and a hint of rose leaf and spices.
On the palate, the wine is semi-sweet, soft, and velvety, with freshness, a slight spiciness, and a long, round finish. Soft tannins provide structure without overshadowing the fruit.
