General Information
Schrobbeler herbal liqueur is a smooth, amber-colored herbal liqueur from Tilburg, developed in 1973 by Jan Wassing. What started as a homemade drink for friends grew into a nationally known product. The base is an infusion of 43 natural herbs, combined with a low alcohol content of 21.5%. Schrobbeler is handcrafted and is particularly accessible due to its mild character.
The name ‘Schrobbeler’ refers to the scrubbing brushes from the Tilburg textile industry, who ended their days with a glass of herbal drink to warm up and relax.
Tasting Profile of Schrobbeler Herbal Liqueur
Schrobbeler has a clear amber color and an aromatic scent with notes of caramel, spices, and soft herbs. The taste is mild and lightly sweet, with spicy accents of cinnamon, fennel, and licorice. The finish is smooth and warming, without bitterness. Due to its low alcohol percentage, it is an accessible liqueur that can be used broadly.
