Royal Khvanchkara Ojaleshi is a semi-sweet red wine from the Lechkhumi region in western Georgia, made from the rare and locally loved grape Ojaleshi. This variety is mainly found in high-altitude mountain villages such as Orbeli and Salkhino, where the grape develops a unique aromatic profile.
The wine is produced by Royal Khvanchkara, a winery dedicated to authentic styles from western regions of Georgia. This wine is made in a traditional, lightly sweet style characteristic of Ojaleshi: fruity, elegant, and smooth in structure.
Tasting Profile of Royal Khvanchkara Ojaleshi
The wine has a clear, ruby red color. On the nose, you can recognize ripe cherries, red berries, licorice, and floral notes.
On the palate, the wine is semi-sweet, fruit-driven, and smooth, with soft tannins, mild spiciness, and a rounded structure. The acidity is subtly present and provides balance. The finish is friendly, fruity, and lightly floral.

Ojaleshi is a rare blue grape variety traditionally grown on steep slopes in western Georgia. It literally means “grape that grows on a pole,” referring to the old method of tying the vines.
