This Orgo Kisi wine is made from the Kisi grape variety grown in the Kakheti-Tsinandali region.
Orgo Kisi wine is produced in the traditional Georgian way by the prominent Georgian winemaker Giorgi Dakishvili. The grapes are fermented in a Qvevri buried in the ground, which maintains a constant and low temperature—this is essential in the fermentation process of the wine. Due to the prolonged contact with the grape skins and stems, the wine has acquired a beautiful amber color.
When pouring this wine, the experience begins immediately—the stunning amber color already invites the first sip. The wine can be enjoyed like a red wine: at a temperature between 16 and 18 degrees Celsius (definitely not colder).
With the first sip, aromas of dried herbs, ripe fruit, and a hint of honey can be recognized.
The Orgo Kisi pairs very well with grilled meat, especially when served with a slightly spicy sauce. In Japan, amber wines are very well received because they pair excellently with sushi. The wine complements salty soy sauce and also pleases the fish.
Amber wines are also suitable for aging in the cellar for a few more years. The tannins become softer, and the aromas can develop further.
