Kindzmarauli Marani – Kindzmarauli is a natural semi-sweet red wine from the Kindzmarauli microzone in the Kakheti region of Georgia. This wine is produced by Kindzmarauli Marani, a renowned winery known for its traditional Georgian winemaking techniques.
Grape Variety and Vinification
This wine is made from the indigenous Saperavi grape, known for its deep color and rich flavor profile. The grapes are harvested by hand and undergo gentle destemming and crushing. Fermentation takes place at controlled temperatures between 23-28°C in stainless steel tanks. After approximately 5-7 days of maceration, when the desired residual sugar level is reached, fermentation is stopped by cooling to preserve the natural sweetness and freshness of the wine. The wine is then stored cold until bottling.
Taste Profile
Kindzmarauli Marani has a deep purple color with an inky edge. The bouquet reveals aromas of crushed blackberry jam and wild raspberries. Sweet and ripe flavours of blackberry and raspberry jam dominate the palate, well balanced by a lively acidity that provides a fresh finish.
Serving advice
This semi-sweet red wine goes well with desserts, fresh fruit and soft cheeses. It is recommended to serve the wine slightly chilled, at a temperature of around 12-14°C, to accentuate the fruity aromas and natural sweetness.
