General Information
Jägermeister Original is an iconic herbal liqueur from Germany, created in 1934 in Wolfenbüttel. The drink is still produced according to the original, secret recipe of founder Curt Mast. Jägermeister contains an infusion of 56 natural herbs, flowers, roots, and fruits. The herbs are extracted and aged in oak barrels for months, which adds complexity and depth. With its pronounced character and 35% alcohol, Jägermeister is one of the most well-known herbal liqueurs worldwide.
Flavor Profile of Jägermeister Original
Jägermeister is dark brown in color with a syrupy texture. On the nose, dominant notes of clove, ginger, citrus, and a hint of licorice. The taste is full, spicy, and slightly sweet, with a bitter undertone and a long, warming finish. The mouthfeel is thick and intense, without sharpness. The barrel aging provides extra roundness and balance in the flavor.

Fun Fact
The name ‘Jägermeister’ means ‘master hunter’ in German and refers to an old hunting function. The stag with the cross on the label is a reference to the legend of Saint Hubertus, patron saint of hunters. Although Jägermeister became popular in the 1990s as a party drink, the production process is exceptionally artisanal and complex – based on barrel aging and natural extraction.
