General Information
Domaine Ternynck Chablis 1er Cru Fourchaume 2023 is an expressive and powerful white Burgundy made from 100% Chardonnay. The wine comes from the Premier Cru vineyard Fourchaume, one of the most valued climats in Chablis. This vineyard is located on the right bank of the Serein River, just north of the Grand Cru locations, and benefits from a warm exposure and Kimmeridgian limestone soils.
The winery is managed by Laurent and Marie-Noëlle Ternynck, who previously gained fame with their wines from Irancy, Saint-Bris, and Bourgogne Côte d’Auxerre under the name Domaine de Mauperthuis. In 2013, they took over Domaine des Marronniers in Préhy from Bernard Legland. This added a series of Chablis appellations to their estate, maintaining the style that characterized Legland: freshness, minerality, and purity.
The vineyards are cultivated with great care and minimal intervention. The vinification aims to enhance terroir expression: cool fermentation, slow aging, without excessive use of wood.

Fun Fact
The Premier Cru Fourchaume is often considered one of the most complete vineyards in Chablis: riper and rounder than many other crus, yet with the characteristic salty limestone tension of Kimmeridgian soils. In the warm vintage of 2023, this wine shows both power and finesse — a style that perfectly suits the work of the Ternynck family.
