Calalenta Rosé is made from 100% Merlot. The vineyards are located in an excellent position in the Sud Abruzzo region, low pruned and planted on steep hillsides at an altitude of up to 250 meters above sea level, which ensures a wine with an excellent balance between aromas and acidity. The grapes are hand-harvested at night and immediately cooled to -1°C after harvest and pressed. The first pressing is fermented for 20 days at a maximum temperature of 10°C in a stainless steel tank. After a light and quick aging on the lees for 30 days in stainless steel, the wine is carefully refined, filtered, and bottled directly.
Calalenta Rosé is the Italian alternative to a ‘Provence style rosé’. The color is very light pink, with fresh aromas of strawberry, freshly cut watermelon, and rose petals. On the palate, it has a wonderfully refreshing taste with hints of fresh fruit, flowers, and soft, delightful mineral notes, followed by a long finish with a fresh acidity combined with fresh fruit.
Calalenta Rosé is delightful as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to various fish dishes, fresh salads, and grilled meats.
