General Information
Bodegas LAN Rioja Gran Reserva is a classic Gran Reserva from the Spanish region of Rioja, composed of 90% Tempranillo from old vines in Rioja Alta and 10% Mazuelo from the prestigious Viña Lanciano vineyard. The grapes undergo temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks. After three weeks of maceration and daily pumping over for optimal extraction, the wine ages for 24 months in American and French oak. This is followed by a minimum of 36 months bottle aging, as required for top-level Gran Reserva wines.
Tasting Profile of Bodegas LAN Rioja Gran Reserva
In the glass, the wine displays a garnet color with ruby-red edges. The nose opens with aromas of ripe red fruit, followed by hints of vanilla, cinnamon, fennel, and licorice from the oak aging. The bottle aging brings elegant secondary aromas of leather and cigar box. On the palate, this Rioja is full, round, and balanced, with soft tannins and a long, spicy finish.
