The winery Tavankari combines the traditional Qvevri method with the current European method in this Tavankari Saperavi, where aging takes place in oak barrels. The result is a fantastic wine that develops both the strength and flavor of the Saperavi grape during fermentation in the Qvevri, but also softens the tannins by allowing the wine to rest on oak for 12 months.
A beautiful ruby red color to enjoy even before taking the first sip. The aromas include notes of ripe cherries mixed with blackberries and soft tannins from aging on oak.
This wine pairs perfectly with grilled meats and game dishes where a nice sauce is a must.
The wine is excellent for long-term storage in the cellar to further develop its beautiful taste. It is advisable to remove the red seal from the bottle to let the cork breathe.
