The producer of this wine is a pioneer when it comes to producing top Cabernet Sauvignon wines, which receive worldwide recognition for their quality and flavor. Stellenbosch is considered the premier region for growing Cabernet Sauvignon grapes, and the area has a long history of making top-quality wines.
The fruit for this wine comes from specific vineyards within Stellenbosch. The carefully selected mix of cool gravel slopes overlooking False Bay and rich red granite soils around Stellenbosch provides a beautiful balance of aromas and flavors in the final wine. After harvest, the grapes are sorted and pumped into open tanks. The team processes each parcel from each vineyard separately so that the unique characteristics and flavors of each vineyard can develop. After one year of aging, the final blend is made, and the wine remains in oak barrels for another year before release. The result is a Cabernet Sauvignon bursting with complexity thanks to the mixed fruit from various terroirs. The wine ages for 20 months in French oak barrels, 15% of which are new.
Deep garnet red in color. Inviting aromas of black cherry, plum, and cassis are complemented by savory undertones of black olives, hints of mint, and cedarwood. On the palate, the wine is fruity, reflecting the aromas. Firm tannins contribute to a lush mouthfeel, balanced by a long, flavorful finish. A classic Stellenbosch Cabernet.
Pairs perfectly with red meat, game, and the typical South African braai.
