General Information
Hoppy Road Tatanka is a powerful Imperial Stout with 10.7%, enriched with tonka bean. This deep dark creation comes from Hoppy Road brewery in Nancy, France, where since 2017, craft beers with character have been brewed. Tatanka is intense and complex, with a balanced combination of roasted malts and spicy notes.
The name refers to the spiritual power of the bison – powerful, earthy, and mysterious. A full-bodied winter warmer or contemplative dessert beer, made for quiet moments.
Tasting Profile of Hoppy Road Tatanka
Hoppy Road Tatanka presents itself deep black in the glass, with a creamy, dark brown foam head. In aroma and taste, a lavish mix of pure chocolate, coffee, and roasted malt emerges. The added tonka beans provide a spicy layer with notes of almond, vanilla, cinnamon, and caramel.
The texture is full and silky, with a long and warming finish. Despite its intensity, the beer remains elegant without stickiness.
Serving Advice
Due to its layered flavor structure, Tatanka is excellent as a dessert beer or digestif. Serve at 12–14°C and pair with:
-
Chocolate fondant or moelleux
-
Crème brûlée with vanilla and cinnamon
-
Roasted nuts and dried fruit
-
Blue-veined cheeses such as Stilton or Gorgonzola
An excellent winter beer to enjoy slowly.
