These Georgian herbs are also called “Svanetian salt” or “salt from Svaneti.” It is named after the eponymous region Svaneti, a mountainous area located in northern Georgia. They simply call it salt there, even though less than half of the herbs consist of salt.
The ingredients are as follows: 42.65% salt, 16.80% garlic, 11.53% coriander, 12.50% fenugreek, 6.26% red pepper, and 7.26% cumin.
These herbs can be used in many Georgian dishes, but also in our “regular” cuisine, such as seasoning meat or chicken. Additionally, it is delicious to sprinkle instead of regular salt on fries (with the warning that it is addictively tasty).
