The grapes for this wine grow in the vineyards of one of the best wine regions in Verduno. The vineyards are located at an altitude of 200 – 300 feet above sea level. Monvigliero can be considered a true ‘Grand Cru’ of Verduno. The average age of the vines is 25 years, and they grow on south-facing calcareous clay soils. After harvest, the wine ages for no less than 24 months in oak barrels.
The wine has a garnet red color with orange reflections. On the nose, the wine has an intense characteristic aroma, ethereal and pleasant. On the palate, it is a dry wine with a robust mouthfeel, simple yet velvety and harmonious. The wine is best enjoyed at a temperature of 18-20 degrees Celsius and should be decanted carefully.
This wine pairs well with red meats and aged cheeses.
